Hello Lovelies,

As Valentine's Day approaches, the air is filled with love and romance, but for many single girls including myself, it can also bring feelings of loneliness or longing for a partner. However, through the years I’ve learned and accepted that being single on Valentine's Day doesn't have to be a time of sadness or despair. Instead, it's an opportunity to embrace self-love, deepen your relationship with God, and find joy in the present moment. Here are some ways I thrive as a single girl during this time:

Celebrate Galentine's Day: Gather your closest girlfriends for a fun Galentine's celebration! Whether it's a movie night, a DIY spa day, or a brunch outing, spending time with your girlfriends is a wonderful way to celebrate friendship and sisterhood. My sweet friend Tori held a brunch with 12 ladies and included a perfume exchange this past weekend. We had the most genuine conversations and shared endless laughs. Alongside the brunch I held a sleepover with my dear college friends. It was such a nostalgic moment having them all stay at my house, just like old times at Winthrop University.

Spend Time with Jesus: Use this Valentine's Day as an opportunity to deepen your relationship with God. Set aside time for prayer, meditation, and reflection on His love for you. Find comfort and strength in His presence, knowing that you are deeply cherished and valued by Him.

Serve Others: Show love and kindness to others by serving those around you. Offer to babysit for a friend or family member for the night or simply perform random acts of kindness throughout your day. Serving others not only blesses them but also brings joy and fulfillment to your own heart.

Practice Self-Love: Take this time to pamper yourself and prioritize self-care. Treat yourself to a spa day, indulge in your favorite hobbies, or simply spend a cozy evening at home watching a good movie and enjoying a cup of tea (or cookies in my case). Remember that loving yourself is essential, regardless of your relationship status.

Pray for Your Future Partner: Use this time to pray for your future husband and your future marriage. Ask God to prepare both you and your future partner for a Christ-centered relationship built on love, respect, and mutual support. Trust in His timing and His plan for your love story.

Be Patient and Trust God's Timing: While it's natural to desire companionship, remember that God's timing is perfect. Embrace this season of singleness as a time of growth, self-discovery, and preparation for the future. Trust that God has a beautiful plan for your life, including your love life, and be patient as you wait for His perfect timing.

As you navigate Valentine's Day as a single girl, remember that you are not alone. You are loved unconditionally by your Heavenly Father, and your worth is not defined by your relationship status. I am truly learning to embrace this season of singleness with gratitude, faith, and hope for the future. Your kingdom husband is out there, and in the meantime, focus on thriving and becoming the best version of yourself. I am also learning to be patient during this season but Lord knows I can’t wait to meet my future husband.

With Love,

Jadesha M. Hair
